"Opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one.." - Stephie
Some people shouldn't, though. There are two kinds of people in the world: idiots, and non-idiots. The latter can easily be split up into a multitude of different types, one type may even seem to belong to the Idiot group. No, these are the people who have the ability to not be an idiot, but choose to be idiots. At least they have potential..
But "idiots" barely deserve to belong in society. I'm not talking about people who just aren't as smart as others, I fully believe that even people who are not smart can still be non-idiots. There are some smart people who are idiots as well.
What do I mean by "idiot"? I am refering to the narrow-, simple-minded people with little to no initiative for educating themselves or being unbiased. I am talking about ignorant people with no fact to back up anything they do. These traits form an Idiot.
Idiots are a hazard to society. There are many things they should be excluded from - the privilege of driving, the privilege of voting, the privilege of teaching or being leaders. But most of all, the FREEDOM to have an opinion.
There should be laws on opinion, because believe it or not, opinions can harm. Opinions formed by people who have not done their research and base their opinion on bigoted claims, are not legitimate. Opinions can be right or wrong - they are right if they have legitimate, educated backing and are voiced by a mature, regularly unbiased, respectful person. Wrong opinions are those wrought of ignorance, with little support other than the outspoken, pushiness of their creators. These opinions should not be allowed.
They compose a heavy threat to society everyday, manifesting themsleves in the idiocy of those who foolishly agree with them, and slowly decomposing the democracy we try to spread.
Why voice an opinion if you don't truly know everything there is to know about those you support - or don't support?
